reading break...

So, reading break begins in week. This being my first, it's quite exciting to have a break in the middle of February. I'll just miss the one in the middle of March. However, though my break will take me out of the classroom, it will still keep me working. Yes, I have homework, but I'm not doing that either. I am off to Mexico!

Yep, my first mission trip ever. I am so excited! A group of students and I are going to be working about an hour away from Cancun Mexico. We will be working with Idea Ministries, an organization that has a lot of experience working with the people in Mexico. We will be trained at a Christian resort for a couple days as we get to know others working with Idea. Then we will live with local families for the remainder of our stay (about a week).

So, for 10 days, I get to help out others, experience summer, check out the market, build a church, meet new people and so much more. I am so excited and so much planning has been done. I leave on the 15th and sometime after I plan on adding photos here and to facebook.

So I'm asking for your prayers as we travel to Mexico and for the people we will be helping out. I also ask that you pray for our health and that we don't catch any wonderful parasites etc. (despite our vaccinations) during our stay.
