a day in the life

So last night Lynette was commenting on how no one has updated their blog lately. I replied that it was simply because nothing is going on in my life at the moment, it's the same routine everyday. So, I have decided to give you all a taste of just what a day in Lydia's life is like. On the days that I do not post, you can pretty much assume that this is the day that I had:

It is 8:00am and Lydia has just been rudely interrupted from her slumber by a noisy, irritating alarm clock. She listens to her clock radio just long enough to her the weather forecast and rolls out of bed, ready to begin a new day. She grabs her clothes and towel and heads to the shower.

After showering, dressing and grooming, she grabs her concoction of pills and peers in the fridge, looking for any breakfast ideas. Eggs normally meet her fancy and once in a while a grape fruit or some yogurt get added to the meal as well. Half way through making breakfast, she meets Karina, her RA, who has just gotten up and chooses a breakfast for herself as well. After eating, the doorbell rings where she is met by Kristen, her Enviro. class buddy and dorm 17 friend.

Enviro. class, being a science, is not Lydia's favourite subject. The professor has been generous enough to make notes available online, so Mindsweeper and Solitaire records are normally beaten at this time. When a test does arise (as it did today) Lydia studies all of the notes the evening before and pulls off an 80 or so.

After Enviro., Lydia heads back to her dorm. In the spare two hours she has, homework is completed, Facebook is checked and lunch is made. Lunch consists of supper leftovers to some great stir-frys or wraps. This depends on her energy level and the time that she as left. At about 11:45, she heads out the door for her 2 hour, 50 minute art class.

Art class can either be a blast or a bore. It depends what is happening. On the days that painting occurs, art class is great. It is the days where she learns about Monet or some other artist or design element when the class is a bore. Halfway through art class, a 15 minute break occurs and Lydia picks up a triple chocolate cookie and a white hot chocolate from Williams located in the cafeteria. Depending when the break happens exactly, she may chat with Christina at Williams or may see Ellen and Lynette walking back from their class. It all depends.

Once art class is over, Lydia heads back to her dorm. She has until 4:00, when her English class begins. In this time her room is tidied, homework is completed or she is nagging people for their dorm photos for the yearbook (this happened quite a bit this week, it takes people over 3 weeks to take a picture and email it, Lydia simply does not understand this concept). Once class is about to begin, Lydia is off to her final class.

English is normally interesting, and seems to make a lot more sense when Lydia completes her readings the day before. English is only a 50 minute class which is great on Fridays when time passes twice as slowly.

After English, Lydia heads back to her dorm, checks email etc. and has supper with her dorm. There are too many different variations and concoctions that are made up and most of them are pretty great. After dinner, she heads to dorm 17 where she will spend the remainder of her night.

The night normally begins with a bit of homework, studying for a test or watching some TV. As the night progresses, a couple seasons of a TV show may be watched such as Grey’s, Lost or Gilmore Girls. (They just finished second season of Gilmore Girls last night.) Sometimes a game may be played, such as Catch Phrase or perhaps they just may hang out and chat. Then at around 12:30am, Lydia heads out and is off to bed.

Lydia should consider writing for a living because she has a knack for making what she calls a boring day seem very interesting.

lol well you made your life sound pretty repititive, but interesting at the same time. You make us sound like losers though (even though its true- I guess we do the same thing all the time) But you know you love us. Thank you for documenting Lydia's daily life so all of us can read about your exciting adventures. Love ya!

I find it cool that even though your life can seem boring, it doesn't sound like it to me.
