Diet...

So for those of you who don't know, or perhaps have been wondering why I choose to pass up a delicious piece of chocolate cake, here is why:

As many of you know I have had several health issues in the past. This is all due to an excessive amount of inflammation in my body. Inflammation will target one area, then when that certain area is treated, it will simply come out in another area. The solution, get rid of the inflammation all together.

Mom and I went to a naturalpath, (for those of you who believe that this is sketchy, that's fine, believe it, but I've seen diets work) and she mentioned that in order to get rid of the inflammation, we need to destroy/kill it. The way to do this is to starve it (kind of like cancer treatment, but not nearly as severe). So, that is why I am off of dairy, wheat, sugar and anything else that I may be "allergic" to (a.k.a. anything that may be "feeding" this inflammation).

So, I am suppose to be on this diet until February, then I'll add new "restricted" foods into my diet, one at a time. Hopefully this way, we can determine what is causing this inflammation, get me off of that specific food and I can eat normally.

Needless to say, this diet has not been easy. Dorm life is hardly the place to attempt a natural diet, particulairly in January, when birthdays seem to pop up all the time. There are about 2-3 birthdays happening in my life each week. Man, I cannot wait until February!

Oh I wish I could make you a nice millet cake to take the place of all the things you're giving up! Good luck!

That must suck soo bad! It will be worth the wait in the end though to see what's causing all of this.

All I can say is KEEP IT UP! Hang in there!

Kristen went to a naturopath and had what seems to me like a similar diet. It was hard doing it at home. I can't imagine how tough it is in dorm. But it did wonders for her. He really helped her and I'm sure your doctor can help you too.
